Lady’s Wood placed third in the 2019 Shooting Awards, winning bronze for best shooting school. Shortlisted by a panel of judges and voted for by the public, the awards recognise the finest grounds in the shooting industry.
Shooting Times, Shooting Gazette and The Field host the awards, in association with The Great British Shooting Show. Finalists for the awards were announced at the beginning of January, commencing a week of online public voting.
Lady’s Wood manager Chris Hanks says, “We are proud to receive this award. It is recognition for the hard work and dedication from our first-class team. It’s an honour to receive nominations amongst our peers and win a huge number of public votes. I would like to thank our amazing team and of course our loyal customers for voting and supporting us.”
Finalists from across the country attended the award ceremony on the 15th February. Lady’s Wood received their award, alongside silver winners Grimsthorpe shooting ground and Hownhall shooting school. E. J. Churchill received gold.
In the lead up to the awards, Shootinguk described Lady’s Wood as ‘one of the most picturesque schools in the whole of the UK… a welcoming destination with passionate staff and challenging targets to boot including a recently added 75-yard ‘Extreme Tower’’.
Lady’s Wood is located on the outskirts of Bristol. We’re open five days a week, Tuesday – Saturday. We offer a range of shooting instruction. The school caters to both novice and experienced guns and also boasts excellent corporate and event facilities.
